Mr. Abbey came to Primrose Hill Elementary when Grace was going into 1st grade, taking over for a principal who had served for many, many years. He was great, making changes where needed, changing some long-standing traditions, but really providing support and continuity. He's announced that he's leaving at the end of this school year, just as my last child passes on as well. Fun fact - I believe that last year, he and the gym teacher were the only members of the instructional or leadership teams who were males. Interesting comment on education in America.
