Nothing is better (or, perhaps, more challenging) than taking a portrait of a teenage girl. It's an important time for them, these years, and they're trying on new things everyday, new ways of being. I don't think that one portrait can do them justice in any meaningful way, and this one is no exception. She's got a very direct gaze and the light coming in from the window illuminates the eyes which are simply stunning. I was lucky enough to get her in "costume" revealing a little about her at this time as well. Her mother was just about to drive her over to Aunt Carrie's where she's doing a stint as dessert girl for the summer. Aunt Carrie's is perhaps the most popular clam shack in the state, although the topic will be hotly debated wherever you go here in Little Rhody. We're fans of Champlin's in Galilee, for the food, but also for the handy bar with one of the best views in the state.
