Bobcat

I don't know the origins of his name, but he's a "section-hiker" of the AT. Section hikers are attempting to complete the 2100+ miles of the trail in shorter sections, picking up each time where they left off, or simply hiking all the trail in some other type of order. This is often done by people who are older and can't get 3 to 4 months off from work to do it in one fell swoop. In many ways, section-hiking is much more difficult than hiking all the way through without stopping. You need to ramp up your hiking pace, your motivation, and your physical conditioning each time you start out. After a few days on the trail, the rhythm of the hike gets into your blood once again.
